Essential oils you can use if suffering with heat exhaustion

Symptoms to look out for

  1. Dizziness

  2. Nausea and vomiting

  3. Headache

  4. Fatigue or weakness

  5. Heavy sweating

  6. Cold, pale, and clammy skin

  7. A fast, weak pulse

Essential oils that can help with heat exhaustion is:

  1. Peppermint,

  2. Lavender,

  3. Petitgrain,

  4. Eucalyptus,

  5. Basil.

  6. Rosemary

  7. Clary Sage

All these oils have cooling properties in them to help cool down the body.

Symptoms and signs you have heat rash:

  1. A red rash can show up anywhere on the body this will include the head, neck and face

  2. On young babies and infants, it generally appear in the folds of the skin most often It is best to always keep the kids skin as dry as possible. On hot days especially just pat the skin with a a tissue or cloth to soak up the excess sweat. You can also give them a warm bath as this is soothing to the skin if the rash occurs, do not make the water to cold as this can cause shock and then you will have another issue you don’t want to deal with.

Essential Oils to use if you have a heat rash:

  1. Eucalyptus Globulus,

  2. Lavender,

  3. Roman Chamomile

  4. Geranium,

  5. Clove

  6. Sandalwood


  7. Signs and symptoms of heat stroke

  8. Red hot dry skin

  9. High temperature

  10. Dizziness,

  11. vomiting

  12. headache

  13. Drowsiness which could also lead to confusion and unconsciousness

  14. The child could have the feeling of being cold and have the shivers

  15. Pulse will increase (rapid pulse)

  16. They can have body aches and muscle cramps If this happens if possible, immerse your child’s whole body in cool to tepid water (make sure it is not cold) if you cannot immerse them then use a sponge and get the water over their body as much as you can. Use whatever you have available to cool the child continuously. Use whatever you have available to cool the child wrapping them in wet sheets or using a fan blowing in their face once you have their temp down to below 99 degrees cover them with a dry sheet. Remember while you are cooling them down give them small sips of water (no gulping).

  17. Essential Oils to use for a heat stroke:

  18. Rosemary,

  19. basil

  20. lavender

  21. All Essential Oils should be diluted in a carrier oil such as coconut, Olive or Almond or any other that you may have on hand in case of skin sensitivity, 2 drops of a single oil in 1 teaspoon of a carrier oil. Rub on back of neck bottoms of feet.
